All young people need a home, support and a springboard into independent living, learning and work. Some don’t get this opportunity so Lifehouse Project has developed an accommodation project to meet this need.
Asher Grove is a six-month accommodation program where the young person or young parent/s live in semi-supported accommodation. The young family lives in rented accommodation that is provided by Lifehouse Project. The family contributes to living costs whilst being mentored to learn budgeting and house management skills.
The key principles of the program are: supportive accommodation and mentoring for young people encompassing safe and affordable accommodation, guidance and access to learning and work.
Lifehouse Project has successfully run three projects supporting three families in 2005, 2006 and 2008/9.
